Great idea! Not fully perfected yet! |
|
Did some research before buying, read the reviews. Ended up giving it as a gift to family. Will be ordering one for myself, and will review it later. Important to read all the directions first! Thought I could load photos directly onto flash drives but will instead have to scan directly to computer then flash drive or fill the memory card and then upload to computer, then to flash drive. |

false claim of 300 dpi resolution and other issues |
This will make a digital copy quickly but at drastically reduced quality. The claims of "up to 1800x1200 @4x6 photo scanned" and "optical 300x300 dpi" are misleading and false. I scanned the same 6 photos on my aged HP scanner at its 300 dpi setting to compare. My HP scans were much much clearer and the colors were true to the originals. Comparison took place after abandoning use of the pandigital's "scanning sleeve" which further blurs images and reduces color quality.
The scanning sleeve comes with marks and lines in the clear cover which, I imagine, would worsen with use and impact the images. The scanning process also imposed black and/or white lines on some of the digital files. This was discovered only after moving them to my computer to view. I had to start over to get line-less copies.
This product is a great concept but not worth the money if you want to see your photos clearly. Stick to a real scanner, scan 6 images to a page and simply crop them out. |

GREAT PRODUCT |
|
I had many many photos from years past that I was wanting to load as archives for my family. Was not looking foreward to the task of loading with a flatpanel scanner. This item did it all for me in record time. Extremely fast loading ---just feed the photos thru and transfer to file!! Only complaint---uneven feed because photos are not guided--rectified by holding finger against side of photo as it is fed in. |

It worked better than I expected |
|
The scanner was small and easy to tote. It was easy to use and did a decent job of scanning. I used it to scan old photos that didn't rate being in a photo album but now that they are "old photos" they have more meaning than ever. I'd recommend this scanner to anybody that needs a portable, easy to use scanner of 4x6 and smaller pictures. |
